Opening soon! ORA Application.

E tū kāhikatea – awhi mai, awhi atu, tātou e.

Like the roots of the kāhikatea, whānau remain strong through supportive intertwined relationships.

Te Pūtahitanga is looking to support initiatives that demonstrate a Whānau Ora approach in strengthening whānau capability and wellbeing and are ready to start soon! Initiatives demonstrating the following attributes are encouraged to submit an ORA Application at www.teputahitanga.org:

  • Local Level Solutions: Initiatives will be kāinga focused; having credibility and confidence with the local landscape and/or regional environment;

  • Intergenerational transmission: Initiatives recognise the link and role of each generation including past, present and future;

  • Collective identity and ownership: The focus is on collective needs and aspirations rather than individual needs;

  • Holistic: Whānau centred delivery requires an integrated approach including environment, economic, physical, cultural, social elements;

  • Whānau Centred: A commitment to whānau being at the centre of all decisions and in control of their own outcomes is the driving focus of Whānau Ora (evidenced by endorsement by kaumātua or senior representatives of whānau, hapu or iwi);

  • Strengths based: Whānau aspirations form the foundation of the initiative;

  • Innovation: Initiatives will inspire and catalyse transformation within whānau.
