Te Punanga Haumaru

Te Pūtahitanga o Te Waipounamu, the Whānau Ora Commissioning Agency for the South Island, is building on the momentum of the whānau voice, in opening a specific commissioning fund called Te Pūnanga Haumaru.

Te Punanga Haumaru literally means ‘a haven to rest and restore: a place of safety, where we can be warm and secure”.

“Our recent consultations across Te Waipounamu have given us every reason to believe that whānau are wanting support to work towards the particular Whānau Ora outcome: to be cohesive, resilient and nurturing” said Helen Leahy, Pouarahi / Chief Executive.

“We open for applications on Monday 8 August and close on 28 August 2016.   Our focus for this round is on supporting whānau-led behaviour that keeps families from harm.    We are calling for whānau-centred applications to come forward with their ideas about how to support all of our young people to be treasured, respected and to enjoy a good life full of opportunity”.

Please go to our website www.teputahitanga.org and share with all whānau who may be interested in this awesome opportunity.
