Wave Five Now Open for ORA Applications

Te Pūtahitanga o Te Waipounamu is pleased to announce that its major investment round for 2016-2017 is now open and calling for applications.

“We are at a great point of development in the commissioning of Whānau Ora” said Helen Leahy, Pouarahi / Chief Executive for the South Island Commissioning Agency.

“We have over eighty initiatives in varying states of progress, focusing on health and healing, maara kai (community gardens); alternative education; outdoors and fitness, life planning, social enterprises.   Whānau from the Catlins to Motueka, from the Chathams to Hokitika, are coming forward with exciting ideas about how to make a sustainable difference in their wellbeing and stability as a whānau”.

“We know there are always more whānau to be reached; that there are whānau in rural locations, others who may feel disconnected, other whānau just wanting to know they can get their lives back on the right track.   We hope through Wave Five to access whānau who have not, as yet, been in contact with Te Pūtahitanga o Te Waipounamu”.

“The wonderful gift of Whānau Ora is to know that everyone can have an idea about how to make a change in their lives, for whānau to be self-managing.   We encourage whānau to have a look at the stories on our website, talk amongst their whānau, and then put an application in by 30th September.

*Word version and application workbook coming soon.
