Assessing your application

Our recommendations to decision-makers are based on available funding, your application meeting the specified criteria, and consideration of other applications. Your application for Te Pūtahitanga o Te Waipounamu funding is assigned to a team member who checks all the material specified is included.  You may be contacted for further clarification before making an assessment. The assessment of your application forms the basis of recommendations made by an Independent Assessment Panel which then are sent to the Te Pūtahitanga o Te Waipounamu Board.

The decision makers

For the majority of our funds, decisions are made by the Te Pūtahitanga o Te Waipounamu, General Partner Limited Board.

The General Partner Limited Board receive:

  • Access to the information you submitted in your funding application
  • A report containing the Panels recommendations.

If your application is successful

For successful whānau initiatives a Contract Advisor will be dedicated to the initiative and will go through the next phase. Once the funding agreement has been accepted and any conditions met the contract will start. One of the conditions of receiving Te Pūtahitanga funding is that you acknowledge Te Pūtahitanga support so the Crown can see how money has been used. You will also be asked to submit an accountability report on the initiatives outcomes every three months from the date you receive funding.
